What used to be a place for pilgrimage is turning to a touristic destination for people visiting Lebanon.
This holy place welcomes with arms wide open everybody from any race or confession but lately it is turning more into a hangout location for many hobos and other refugees coming from neighbooring countries such as Syria and Irak.
Their presence is so dominant that you start having this kind of insecurity around you; after a chat with a security guy he confirmed my concern “you are right, we are facing this problem too but we can’t restrict people from coming”. He continues “yes, we are facing some problems but not too frequent like pickpocketing and other harassment”.
Their vagrancy is becoming annoying where they tend to follow foreign tourists all around asking for money.
